Courtesy visit of the Vice Chancellor of UMPSA met the Deputy General Secretary (Basic) of the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT)

 

Vice Chancellor of UMPSA, Professor Dato' Ts. Dr. Yuserrie Zainuddin conducted a courtesy visit to YBhg. Dato' Dr. Haji Megat Sany bin Megat Ahmad Supian, Deputy General Secretary (Basic) of the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT) in his office in Putrajaya.

Present with the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & International), Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman, Deputy Director of the Academic Strategic Cooperation Center (PKSA), Mr. Abd Rahman bin Hj Safie, and the Manager of the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), Mr. Azrizulazmi Bin Bustan.

The meeting provided an opportunity for the university to present on current issues and developments related to dual degree study at UMPSA.

Besides that, Dato Dr Megat was also informed about UMPSA's efforts in connection with the provision of coastal TVET program offering between UMPSA with the cooperation of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) and Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).

In the meeting, he also fully supported the efforts done by UMPSA in offering Dual Degree Program at UMPSA.

Recently UMPSA has partnered with several universities in Germany, China and Kazakhstan to offer as many as 10 dual degree programs.

For example, cooperation with universities in Germany has produced as many as 239 alumni in the field of engineering and this coincides with KPT's efforts to generate the need for more engineers to fill the job vacancies in the country.

Also present to represent KPT in this meeting is Puan Marhanum binti M. Haniff, Division Secretary, KPT Scholarship Division and Mrs. Noor Hasniza binti Mat Salleh, Senior Assistant Secretary of TVET Unit.
