On November 12, 2023 Zhania Serikova and Danil Akshimbayev, fourth-year students from the Faculty of Zoo Engineering and Food Production Technology of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University, left for a one-year study at Pahang University in Kuantan, Malaysia.

6B05102 - Those who are studying under the "Biotechnology" educational program, according to the calendar schedule of UMPSA-KazNARU "Bachelor of Applied Science in Biotechnology Industry with Honours", will further advance their studies at one of the advanced universities in Asia.

Last week, Nicholas Khoo Jyh Shen and Lim Yeow Hong, 4th-year students from Malaysia from Biotechnology, came to study at KazNAZU's Department of Food Technology and Safety, according to these two diploma programs.

The exchange of students between two higher education institutions has been implemented on the basis of two diploma programs jointly adopted by KazNAZU and Pahang Universities in Biotechnology.

Like Kazakhstan, Malaysia is a member of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Hot humid climate provides a great opportunity to grow a variety of crops such as rubber plants, palms (for oil extraction), rice and tropical fruits: cocoa, coconut, banana, pineapple. In recent years, agriculture constituted 12% of national GDP.

Rapid population growth (32 million. human) requires the development of innovative scientific research and technical progress in order to increase the consumption of food products. In this regard, Pahang University will play a crucial role in broad introduction of state-of-the-art innovation technologies to the agricultural sector along with quality education.

KazNAZU students are confident that they will learn the secrets of this advanced technology at Pahang University in the future as qualified specialists who will dedicate innovative projects to the development of the country's agriculture.

According to the management of KazNAZU, in the future, within the framework of international cooperation relations, the number of students on two diplomas in foreign universities will grow.
