UMPSA expands its cooperation with 6 private schools in the internationalization of the academic program

The University of Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) has taken another step forward by forging strategic cooperation with six Chinese Private Secondary Schools through the Signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in strengthening the university's academic programme.
Present signing Mou of Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International), Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad Sulaiman. Also present at the ceremony is Professor Ts. Dr. Mohd Ruzaimi bin Mat Rejab, Director of the Center for Strategic Academic Cooperation (PKSA) UMPSA.
Representing the school are the Principal of Chung Hua Secondary School, Klang Selangor, Mrs Sim Tee Chiam, Principal Hin Hua Secondary School Klang, Selangor, Mr Soh Chin Choon and Principal of Kwang Hua Secondary school, Klang, Selongor, Mrs Seah Kwang Hong.
Three more schools represented by Vice Principal, Chong Hwa Private Secondary School, Kuala Lumpur, Mr. Chong Chee Keong, Vice Principal Han Chiang Secondary School, Georgetown, Penang, Dr. Wah Tze Huey, Head of Department of Administration of Chong Hwa Secondary School, Kuantan, Pahang, Mr. Teh Fu Xing Adria.
According to Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Ahmad Ziad, this move is part of UMPSA's efforts to strengthen international academic relationships and open up wider educational opportunities to students from private secondary school communities.
It is said that this initiative started in 2023 with the desire to introduce UMPSA academic programs, especially the Dual Degree Program.
“This program provides opportunities for students to continue their studies in railway engineering with Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU), China, and prepare to face great opportunities from the East Coast Railway (ECRL) project.
"So far, as many as 155 students have enrolled in this program, with 45 graduates successfully completing their studies at BJTU.
“This is not only a huge achievement for UMPSA, but also a testament to our commitment to academic excellence,” he said.
To date UMPSA is the only public university that has implemented 10 Dual Degree programs in cooperation with strategic partners Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (HKA) and Mannheim University of Applied Science (HMA) Germany, BJTU and Tianjian University, China, Kazakh National Agrarian Research University (KazNARU), Kazakhstan and the latest with Hanyang University Erica Campus South Korea.
The move solidifies UMPSA’s efforts in offering high-quality education with a global touch.
UMPSA hopes this partnership will open up more opportunities for students to achieve excellence in their future studies and careers.
